Oruro Carnival

The carnival of Oruro is the biggest carnival of Bolivia and South America after the one of Rio.
It is a mythical event in which every Bolivian people dreams to participate. Dancing in the carnival is a big honour and everyone owes have been there at least once in his life.

The carnival is THE most important party of Bolivia and the one of Oruro was moreover registered by the UNESCO as immaterial heritage of the humanity.

Did you Know it?

The carnival is so important in Bolivia that Chile chose this date to attack in 1879 and so took the coast territories of Bolivia.

We tell that when the President of this time received the news of the Chilean attack, he put the telegram in his pocket and didn't do anything.
Since the Bolivian people always have a lot of resentment to Chileans.
