The valley of condors is, as its name indicates a valley where we can observe condors but it is also a project of development of communitarian tourism.
EDYFU, Education For the Future is a Bolivian NGO which was established in 2007 with the aim of educating the discriminated children and setting up projects of development. EDYFU also welcomes volunteers to help in its various projects; if you wish to participate in it contact them.
The valley of condors is one of its projects. The purpose is to develop a community tourism which benefits the local communities and which welcomes the tourists with a quality service.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the reception and the multiple possible activities; horse rides, hikes, observation of condors, manufacturing of ambroisa (alcoholic drink mixing milk and singani), manufacturing of bread, cheese, housing in the "center" or in the villagers houses, etc.
If you wish to go to visit this project it is necessary to go to the organic store of Ecosol, on the square Sucre in Tarija so that they'll organize the visit for you. It is necessary to prevent them at least one day in advance and, to see condors counting at least two days.
