To obtain the specific purpose, courtesy or student visa, you must have a medical exam that guarantees you do not have the AIDs virus or any other infectious disease.

This is done at INSO (Miraflores in La Paz) behind the La Paz General Hospital at 10 a.m. with a urine (fasting) sample, or you can produce the sample there if you are fasting. Do not forget to bring your passport and a form you will obtain from the Colegio de Médicos (Calle Ballivián near the Plaza Murillo) at a cost of 25 Bs.

Approximate time to process: 2 days to 1 week, you'll have to pick up the paper on noon time. 

Cost: 150 Bs.
