Alarachi, national reserve
     
 

The natural Reserve of Alarachi, managed by Prometa (environmental protection in Tarija), was organized to develop tourist projects and protect the environment.

Being part of the big Reserve of Tariquia, Alarachi, situated at only 2 hours of Tarija, is more easily accessible.

If the project is interesting it is regrettably still not well settled. The encampment of SIDRAS, which welcomes the visitors for one or two days, is badly maintained and dirty.

We were even more disappointed by the fact that the vegetation was completely burned because of a big frost one month earlier. We did not thus see animals nor flowers...

However the region must be very beautiful, its extraordinary fauna and flora, although we regrettably missed them. If you have some experience of the region do not hesitate to let us know its marvels...
